For in-service teachers, educators, and administrators who are interested in the teaching of literacy and wish to receive CTLE credits at any one of our professional development workshops. Members can also choose to attend a monthly book club dinner meeting or join an event committee.
For parents with children in school who are interested in the field of literacy. This type of membership does not offer CTLE credits.
For paraprofessionals who are interested in learning more about the teaching of literacy and wish to receive CTLE credits at one of our professional development workshops. Members can also choose to attend a monthly book club dinner meeting or join an event committee.
For retirees who are interested in remaining involved in the field of literacy. Members can choose to become one of our pre-kindergarten Storytellers, join an event committee, participate in a professional development workshop or attend a monthly book club dinner meeting.
For full-time undergraduate or graduate pre-service students. A college ID must be provided along with the membership application. This type of membership does not offer CTLE credits.
All first year full-time teachers are eligible for a free annual SIRA membership. This type of membership offers CTLE credits for the year at any one of our professional development workships.
For those who wish to become a member and a children's book sponsor.
A free membership in the New York State Reading Association (NYSRA) is included with a SIRA membership.
